TerraNova reports translate test results
into useful information for teachers, parents, students, administrators,
and public officials.
When CTB began developing TerraNova, The Second Edition, we
talked to parents, teachers, and administrators, who identified
one common need: an information system that goes beyond the
numbers to help improve student learning. To address that fundamental
need, some of CTB's most requested reports have been enhanced
and combined to provide more comprehensive information and better
value. We also added step-by-step interpretation and more user-friendly
graphics.
Take an interactive look at a few sample reports from TerraNova,
The Second Edition, and see how they relate directly to instructional
objectives and student achievement. Examine sample test items,
learn how they are scored, and review related activities. You must have the current Flash Player--see link in left column.

Individual Profile Report (IPR) Identifies an individual student's strengths and needs. It uses objectives-level (criterion-referenced) scores to help determine specific instructional priorities, and norm-referenced scores to compare achievement with the norm group. The IPR presents useful test results clearly and understandably to teachers, parents, and guardians.
Home
Report
Presents test information in a meaningful, easy-to-understand format that helps parents and guardians become more involved in children's learning. A Spanish-language version of the Home Report, including the Observations and all the information on the second page of the report, is also available.
Item
Analysis Report
Shows how each student responded to each test item, including constructed-response items in the Multiple Assessments. This report helps identify specific errors made by the students and specific types of items that students may not understand--a valuable aid to help the teacher identify areas of instructional need.
Objectives
Report
Provides information on objectives-related achievement to support instructional planning in areas of individual and group need. This report shows each student's degree of mastery on each objective measured by TerraNova, The Second Edition. It also summarizes the performance of the group on each objective tested.
Group
Performance Level Report (GPL)
Summarizes for a group of students the individual results shown in the Student Performance Level Report. Grouping of students with common skills and knowledge can help teachers develop targeted instructional strategies for each group. This is a standards-based report unique to the TerraNova family of assessments.
Group
List Report
Provides an easy-to-understand snapshot of the achievements of a class or other group of students. It presents important information about norm-referenced scores, including both averages and individual student scores.
Content
Area Summary Report
Provides an overview of local performance by group and by grade for each content area tested. The summary statistics presented in this report can help administrators compare local performance to the national norm group, and can aid in evaluation, planning, and establishing educational priorities.
Assessment
Summary Report
Designed as a 4-part report to help school and district administrators evaluate the overall effectiveness of educational programs. It includes norm-referenced achievement scores; Objectives Performance (degree of mastery) scores on the objectives measured by TerraNova, The Second Edition; and Performance Level information.
