Sandip Sinharay, Ph.D., is CTB's Chief Research Statistician. He provides consultation to the testing programs at CTB on various statistical issues and conducts research to support the different CTB testing programs.
Prior to taking this position, Dr. Sinharay worked at the Research and Development division of Educational Testing Service (ETS), Princeton, NJ, as a Principal Research Scientist.
Dr. Sinharay is currently an editor of the Journal of Educational and Behavioral Statistics and is in the editorial board of the Journal of Educational Measurement. Dr. Sinharay received three awards from the National Council on Measurement in Education: the award for Technical or Scientific Contributions to the Field of Educational Measurement (2009), the Jason Millman Promising Measurement Scholar Award (2006), and the Alicia Cascallar Award for an Outstanding Paper by an Early Career Scholar (2005). He also received the ETS Scientist Award in 2008. He is the co-editor of two published volumes: Handbook of Statistics, Volume 26 (2007; with C. R. Rao) and Looking Back (2011; with Neil J. Dorans). He is the author of more than 50 articles in peer-reviewed Statistics and Psychometrics journals and edited books.
