CTB Spring 2015 High School Equivalency Field Test

We are currently recruiting participants for an important field test that supports the ongoing development of a general education high school equivalency assessment. This assessment incorporates national expectations for College and Career Readiness, and our current field test will cover Reading and Writing. The testing window begins on May 6, 2015, and ends on July 31, 2015.

The study is open to adult education centers and individuals in the following groups:

  • Adult education centers with clients preparing for the GED® or HISET®
  • Adults who have recently taken the GED or HISET or who plan to take the GED or HISET in the next year

The purpose of this field test is to figure out which test questions contribute to the quality of the assessment and to conduct research to evaluate the validity of score interpretations. The questions have been developed and published by CTB, in line with our vision of helping the teacher help the student.

By participating in this field test study, you will be improving assessments for adult learners who want to earn a high school equivalency certificate and pursue their career goals. Participants will also gain valuable insight into the way that high school level assessments measure up to the Common Core State Standards.

Including an orientation and breaks, the test will take about six hours to complete. Testing can be done in one sitting, or adult education centers may choose to divide the administration into multiple parts to assist scheduling.

We offer generous incentives to qualifying individuals and test centers. For more information on our incentives program, click on the "Incentives" tab below.
